A Video Celebrating the Invaluable Contribution Nurses Make all Over the World
Ausmed Education has just published a video online to celebrate the contribution nurses make all over the world.
'A World Without Nurses' was produced to inspire and encourage the current, and next generation of nurses to see the immense value made by their contribution to society. A further aim however, was to remind others of their importance and to provide statistics which clearly show that nurses are not an expandable resource, but a group of professionals who are historically undervalued. Therefore, the messages contained in the video seek to be as powerful and provocative as possible.

The video comprises details regarding nursing demographics; the ageing global population; increases in complex chronic illnesses; nursing work life; nursing shortages and their impact, as well as nursing migration.
The release of the video coincides with the recent relaunch of Ausmed Publications, Ausmed Conferences and AusmedOnline as one new company – Ausmed Education.
With this also brings the launch of an entirely new website which will be fully functioning in mid December, combining, details of and access to, nursing conferences, online learning and publications in the one place.
In 2012 Ausmed is celebrating 25 years as an industry leader providing professional development education for nurses. This is achieved using the expertise and knowledge of educators and health care professionals, in Australia and overseas, to develop new education and useful resources.
CEO, Cynthea Wellings, believes that: "CPD Education should support a nurse's desire to learn, and not be constrained by factors such as location and access." The Learning Centre seeks to overcome geographic obstacles with the provision of CPD related education online. "Ongoing education should be practical, available across different mediums and assist a nurse in providing high quality patient care", said Wellings.
