Cardiac Electrophysiology Update: Electrical Activity of the HeartThis lecture provides a review and an update of cardiac electrophysiology. At a cellular level, the electrical activity of the heart is described. Activation and depolarisation of the cardiac cell is described and the major factors which affect this process are provided. The properties of automaticity of the cardiac cell and refractoriness in rhythm excitation are described. Electrolyte and medication influence on cardiac electrical activity and the potential of a working cardiac cell are described. This is highly informative lecture.
