It was good general overview of the topic, unfortunately you don't see the slides he refers to, I think this is a great shame.  I also think that each of the topics could be done to greater depth.  I know the speaker is only giving a general overview and does not have time to go into depth, but I think a series of lectures could be made from these topics.
