She completed pathology residency at University of Nebraska Medical Centre in Nebraska and surgical pathology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Centre, Illinois, USA. Dr. Sharma is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. In addition to a full-time practice at Creighton University, Dr. Sharma is a consultant at Bergan Mercy and Veterans Affairs Medical Centres in Omaha. Dr. Sharma has extensive experience in teaching at all levels of medical education. She is active in the teaching of pathophysiology to the nurses, pharmacy and medical students at the Creighton Univeristy. She is the director of pathology course offered to the School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at Creighton University. Dr. Sharma teaches pathophysiology in continued medical education programs designed for nurses, physician and other health care professionals. She holds publications in various scientific journals. Dr. Sharma is an active member in the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and numerous other professional societies.
