Therapeutic Use of Oxygen Therapy & Mask Delivery SystemsThis session provides a review and an update on the therapeutic use of oxygen therapy. Pathophysiological theory is applied to the nursing care of a patient. A problem solving approach is utilised in analysing a case study. The essential components of oxygenation are stated. Simple oxygenation methods are provided. Alternative mask delivery systems are discussed. Information on Non-invasive ventilation with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPaP) is provided. A highly informative session.
