Substance Abuse Case Study: A Personal Story of AddictionThis session presents an in-depth personal story of the lived experience of addiction. The major aspects of substance abuse, the adverse repercussions of drug and alcohol addiction are discussed. Effective treatments for addiction and substance abuse for a person is described in a case study. The major symptoms of alcohol withdrawal and delirium tremens ( DTs ) are provided in this session. The positive outcome from treatment of addiction in this case study reflects the theoretical stance of the speaker. The main concepts explored in this session are:
Rinaldo Minniti is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who is based within Drug and Alcohol Services in South Australia. Rinaldo also works as a Senior Lecturer at both the University of Adelaide and Flinders University, South Australia. In addition to these positions Rinaldo works within his own private practice. Rinaldo Minniti has specialist knowledge and interest in the area of alcohol and substance abuse, in particular in the area of rehabilitation and recovery from addictions.
