Staff Health Issues, Protecting Yourself and Your Patients
Tuberculosis in the Australian health care setting is the subject discussed at the beginning of this session. The people most at risk of contracting tuberculosis, are identified. The appropriate precautions are outlined and discussed. The long term problems associated with the continuous and/or overuse of antibiotics are discussed. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus (VRE) infections are explained along with the precautionary measures needed to prevent their spread. A very informative, plain speaking session.
