Heart Blocks and Bradycardia: In-Depth ECG Interpretations
This lecture provides a review of the anatomy and physiology of the sino-atrial node (SA) and the atrial-ventricular node (AV). The role of the SA and AV nodes in the pathophysiology of heart blocks and bradycardia is provided. An in-depth description is provided of first, second and third degree heart block. A detailed interpretation of electrocardiograph (EEG) rhythm strip recordings of these cardiac arrhythmias is provided. This is highly informative lecture.
The main concepts explored in this session are:
- Anatomy and physiology of the SA and AV node
- Pathophysiology of heart blocks and bradycardia
- Heart block: First, second and third degree
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Electrocardiograph (EEG) detailed interpretation
