The increase in responsibilities and the resulting increase in exposure to risk for registered nurses working in the area of residential aged care is described and discussed. The laws governing nursing practice within elderly aged care are described and discussed. The reasons for clear documentation of incidents promptly are discussed. Examples of incidents which occurred in aged residential care and resulted in legal interventions are provided. This is a highly informative lecture.
