This lecture discusses the complex issue of the development of a healthy personality in adolescent girls. The concepts of femininity, sexuality and society are discussed in the context of the adolescent girl’s development of identity as a woman. How young women are perceived within our culture and issues of objectification of women’s sexuality are considered. The risks and conflicts faced by teenage girls in today’s world are discussed and key dimensions of this social phenomena analysed in this engaging lecture.
