‘Let’s Party Till We Drop’: Victorian Youth Crime PreventionThis lecture provides an overview of the role of the Victorian Police Youth Affairs Office and their ‘Safe Street” and ‘Party Safe Plan’, programmes to facilitate a safe and secure environment for youth. Social strategies to prevent crime and create a more integrated society are provided. The dangers of under-age drinking on the development of adolescent children are discussed. A sociological perspective on the issue of under-age drinking is provided and the impact this activity has on teenagers is explored. The main concepts explored in this session are:
