Valuing and Recognising the Significance of Enrolled Nurses within Health CareThis session outlines the importance of the nursing profession to society. It acknowledges the rich and valued history of nurses past and present. The importance of the Enrolled Nurse in maintaining the health of Australians today is also discussed. The future of the ‘Nursing Profession’ is explored in terms of looking at best nursing practice outcomes and nursing education. The concept of the “…thinking nurse for the future utilising their untapped capacity…” concludes this inspiring and informative presentation. The main concepts explored in this session are:
Speaker: Cheryl BurnsCheryl Burns has been a nurse for over thirty years and held various positions in clinical nursing education. Cheryl currently works in Queensland Health in Clinical Education as Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education. Cheryl has a strong commitment to the profession and has been on many state and national committees. She values the many and varied roles of the nurse and is a strong and eloquent advocate for nurses.
