Substances Used by Nurses and the Consequences of this BehaviourIn this session, Rosa talks about the vexing issues relating to substances used and misused by nurses. Gender differences in ‘drug use’ are explored. The role of the nurse and the history of drug use in the profession as well as societal images of the nurse are reflected upon and analysed in respect to addiction and drug use within nursing.
Speaker: Rosa BibbyRosa is a mental health nurse who trained and worked in England. This included working in a specialist unit for health professionals who are experiencing mental health issues and / or substance misuse problems. Rosa has twelve years nursing experience mainly in the area of acute mental health and has worked in the field of alcohol and drugs for approximately five years.
