Sexual Health of Young People – Discovering Sexual IdentityLearn the importance of providing appropriate sex education and information to young people. Youth are identified as a vulnerable group within our society (even if they do not perceive themselves in this manner). Today’s youth may be less knowledgeable about sexuality than perhaps most adults believe. The need for adults to engage in dialog with young people, to understand their perspective and provide them with the correct information, is emphasized in this dynamic session. The main concepts explored in this session are:
Judith DeanJudith Dean is a State Nurse Educator, from the Sexual Health Services, Queensland Health. Judith is also the Sexual Health Program Convener at Griffith University and holds a joint position between Queensland Health and Griffith University. Judith has worked in the area of sexual health for many years and has a particular interest and experience in indigenous health, remote and rural health and public health including international humanitarian aid work.
