Professor Genevieve Gray: A Personal Historical AccountProfessor Genevieve Gray tells her nursing story. In the 1970s as an Australian nurse she perceived a need to travel overseas to obtain higher nursing education. Genevieve reflects on her journey and discusses the recent evolution of the nursing profession in Australia. She discusses examples of collaboration between groups of Australian nurses that has occurred over recent years, and attributes these professional advances to this collaborative process. Now working in Vietnam Genevieve discusses nursing and its development there. The main concepts explored in this session are:
Genevieve Gray is Professor of Nursing and Director, Queensland University of Technology, Vietnam Nursing Program School of Nursing and Midwifery. Professor Genevieve Gray is a senior Australian nurse who travelled overseas for higher nursing education in the 1970s, returning to Australia to contribute to the evolution of the nursing profession in Australia. Now working in Vietnam for La Trobe University, Genevieve is involved in assisting in the development of the nursing profession in Vietnam.
