Pressure Ulcers - Assessment and Care of Skin / Soft TissueThis session informs nurses of the importance of meeting a person’s nutritional requirements in the prevention and healing of pressure ulcers. Listen to an outline of the various stages of damage to skin and soft tissue. Learn about the importance of nursing assessment in predicting, preventing and treating pressure ulcers. You will also learn practical strategies to apply for providing nursing care to people at risk of, or with an injury and/or wound. This is a clear, practical, plainly spoken and informative session. Speaker: Tracy NowickiTracy Nowicki is a clinical nurse consultant in the principle items equipment service at a major public hospital in Queensland. Tracy has acquired extensive clinical expertise and management knowledge whilst working across a number of clinical specialties. Tracy has a special interest in evidenced-based wound care and expert nursing knowledge and understanding of the prevention of pressure ulcers and the nursing care of a person with a pressure ulcer.
