This session summarises how a diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus Type II is made. The importance of performing a comprehensive health assessment and a review of appropriate laboratory blood prior to making a diagnosis is emphasised. Risk factors such as obesity and life style are addressed. The need for people at risk of developing this disease to take preventative action and to make changes in their lifestyle to avoid the onset of Diabetes Mellitus Type II is also discussed.
