When and why to use different types of insulin is discussed. The advantages of selecting the appropriate type of insulin according to individual needs are emphasised. Information on the administration, management and storage of insulin and practical strategies / guidelines for nurses regarding the administration of insulin are provided, along with a review of injection techniques.
