Diabetes Mellitus: Complications & Complex Health ProblemsThis lecture discusses a number of complications and complex health problems that can arise in patients with diabetes mellitus. Issues relating to hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia are discussed. Chronic and acute disorders resulting from poor control of blood glucose levels are discussed. Nursing care and interventions for control of blood glucose levels are provided throughout this lecture. Dehydration, cardiovascular conditions, surgery, steroid use and polypharmacy in a person with diabetes are discussed. This is a highly informative session.
