Depression in the Elderly Person: Risk Factors and CausesIn this session, Hugh clarifies the causes of endogenous and reactive depression. Hugh identifies the main risk factors contributing to these mental illnesses. Hugh discusses how anxiety, when combined with depressive illness, results in a person experiencing agitated depression. Physical illness, stress and trauma along with child birth and menopause are identified as further risk factors which contribute to depressive illness.
