Collecting and Interpreting Data: Personalising Nursing CareThis lecture discusses how staff attitudes towards elderly patients in acute care can influence the collection and interpretation of data. The importance of acknowledging cultural difference and cultural sensitivities are emphasised in this session. Family involvement and the importance of friends as sources of relevant and accurate data are discussed. The education and skill level of nurses collecting data is discussed. The challenge of collecting and interpreting data within the framework of a multidisciplinary team is identified. The main concepts explored in this session are:
