Cardiac Medications: IV Furosemide & Glyceryl TrinitrateThis session provides a review and an update on the therapeutic use of intravenous furosemide (Lasix or frusemide) and glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) in the care of a patient with a cardiac condition. Pathophysiological theory is applied to the nursing care of a patient receiving intravenous furosemide and glyceryl trinitrate. A problem solving approach is used in analysing a case study. This is a brief and highly informative session. The main concepts explored in this session are:
