Diabetes Mellitus: Obesity and Pancreatic Transplants

This lecture discusses different types of medications used by people diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 for achieving weight loss. The use of complementary therapies in the treatment and care of people with diabetes mellitus Type 2 and diabetes mellitus Type I are included in this lecture.  Pancreatic transplants are discussed along with the effectiveness of this procedure. Quality and quantity of life expectancy following surgery is debated in this interactive session.

Michelle Robins is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator with over 16 years experience in many aspects of diabetes care and education. Michelle currently works as a Diabetes Nurse Educator ( DNE )  in rural Victoria. Her past employment has involved working in diabetes care and education within large and small, public and private hospitals,  and community settings. Michelle’s comprehensive and varied practice is reflected in her depth of knowledge and understanding of diabetes. Michelle Robins is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner – Diabetes.
