Understanding and Interpreting Electro Cardio Graphs (ECGs)This session provides an overview of electrocardiography. The normal activation of the heart and sinus rhythm is explained physiologically. The wave form of a healthy heart as it is represented on an ECG recording is clearly explained. A comprehensive explanation of what each ECG lead measures is described. Common cardiac arrhythmias are explained and the ECG recordings discussed. Atrial and ventricular arrhythmias are discussed and the ECG recordings for these conditions are described. The main concepts explored in this session are:
James McVeigh is an authorised nurse practitioner in high dependency nursing. Jim is the coordinator of the Heart Failure Service at the Prince of Wales hospital, Sydney, Australia.
