Speaker / Author: Terry Swanson is a registered nurse who holds a diploma of nursing, a postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing, and a diploma in health sciences. She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia. Terry is the clinical consultant responsible for administering wound management services at South West Healthcare (Victoria, Australia). She has held positions of responsibility in local, state, and national wound management professional bodies. As a member of the Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) subcommittee, Terry participated in the development of the AWMA national ‘Standards for Wound Management’. Terry has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences. She is awaiting endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner. Terry will complete her master’s degree in 2005. Her thesis explores nurses’ perception of the variables influencing wound management practice.
