Drugs and Demons: The Complexity of Drug Abuse in AdolescentsThis lecture discusses the key factors involved in the development of drug abuse in adolescents. The most commonly used legal and illegal drugs used and abused by adolescents are described. The developing adolescent brain is discussed, and the impact that drug use has on the developing teenage brain, considered. The availability of online pharmaceuticals to this age group is also discussed. The issues of the ‘ice epidemic’ and the policy for supervised ‘chroming’ are explored in this highly informative lecture.
